Symptoms

When clicking on Release Notes in the Project Summary, I should see a list of issues solved by the Release. Instead, the area where this should appear is blank.

The following appears in the atlassian-jira.log:

org.apache.velocity.exception.VelocityException: Could not find template 'templates/jira/project/releasenotes/releasenotes-with-releasecomment-text.vm' ensure it is in the classpath.

Cause

This is caused by a plugin calling for a specific file, templates/jira/project/releasenotes/releasenotes-with-releasecomment-text.vm

Workaround

To temporarily resolve this issue, please enable Plugin Safe Mode

Resolution

• Disable every plugin, one at a time, and then test the operation

• When you find the plugin that causes the issue, uninstall that plugin

  Third-party plugins are not supported by Atlassian. If a plugin of that type is the culprit, please contact the plugin's publisher.
