Background Information

As can be seen in the Fisheye Download Archives page, until Fisheye 3.3.3 the only installation option available was the Zip Archive for all operating systems. Back then, customers running Fisheye/Crucible on Windows that wanted to make Fisheye/Crucible start as Windows Service had to manually download, install and configure the Java Service Wrapper.

Fisheye/Crucible 3.4.0 and later versions have the Windows installer (.exe) option in addition to the Zip Archive option, and this installer configures the Windows Service automatically, so this made the manual installation of the Java Service Wrapper become pretty much unnecessary / obsolete.

Therefore, the only scenario this article applies to is for when Fisheye/Crucible is installed via Zip Archive option and the Java Service Wrapper has been manually downloaded, installed and configured.

If you have installed Fisheye/Crucible via Zip Archive option and configured it to start as Windows Service by manually installing the Java Service Wrapper, and you would like to uninstall this service, please follow these steps:

  1. Shutdown your Fisheye/Crucible instance
  2. Run Command Prompt as Administrator
  3. Navigate to <Fisheye/Crucible Installation Directory>\wrapper\bin directory and run the uninstaller found there.

Running the batch file above will uninstall the Java Service Wrapper and this can be verified by reloading the Windows Services list.
