Start working on your project
In a Scrum project, work is done in sprints. A sprint (or iteration) is a short period in which the development team focuses on delivering a specific set of work. When your team is ready, there are a few things you'll need to do before they can start working.
A note for Kanban teams:
Kanban projects are based on continuous delivery of work, rather than sprints. If you're leading a Kanban team, check out Using your Scrum backlog instead.
Create a sprint
You can create a sprint for your current iteration, or multiple future sprints if you want to plan several iterations ahead.
- Navigate to the Backlog of your desired board.
- Click the Create Sprint button at the top of the backlog.
Add work to a sprint
When you've created your sprint, you'll need to assign work to it. You might consider sitting down with your team and having a planning session first. This will give you the opportunity to discuss team goals and decide how much work your team can complete.
To add issues to a sprint, simply navigate to the Backlog and drag an issue to the sprint.
What about when the issue is created?
You can also assign an issue to a sprint via the Sprint field when editing or creating an issue.
Start your sprint
When your sprint has enough issues assigned to it, go to the Backlog and click Start Sprint. Your team is now ready to start doing work!
