Summary

Changes made to the custom/standard fields on the Success Criteria work item through the Details Panels Settings page for a specific portfolio are not reflected on the Success Criteria details panel.

Environment

Jira Align

Diagnosis

Steps to follow to replicate the issue:

  • Go to Jira Align Administration > Details Panel Settings > select any Portfolio and Success Criteria Work item

  • Modify any custom/standard fields

  • Click on Save

  • Go to Portfolio > Success Criteria

  • Click on Add Success Criteria.

  • Select a random Program Increment, fill in the remaining mandatory fields, and click on Save

Notice that the custom/standard fields listed in the details panel for the success criteria are different from what you have selected through the Details Panels Settings.

Cause

The Program Increment which is selected in the Success Criteria details panel decides the fields that populate for a particular Success Criteria. Program Increment is directly mapped to the portfolio. So, the fields populating in the Success Criteria details panel depend on the Program Increment selected for the Success Criteria, and in turn, the Portfolio to which that PI is mapped.

Program or Epic does not have any role in deciding the custom/standard fields shown in the Success Criteria details panel.

Solution

Create a new Success Criteria by selecting a Program Increment that is directly mapped to the Portfolio for which you have set the required custom fields through the Details Panels Settings.

For example, consider that you have set the required custom/standard fields for Success Criteria for "Portfolio A" through the Details Panels Settings page; and the Program Increment mapped to Portfolio A is "PI-A1”. Now, when you create a Success Criteria, select the Program Increment PI-A1 and that will list all the fields that you selected through the Details panels Settings page for the Success Criteria for the respective Portfolio.
