Summary

When you create a Process Flow (Value Stream), a dedicated team is created for that particular Flow. Team membership can be accessed from the Members tab either within the Process Flow itself or from the corresponding team: Team > Manage > Teams > [Process Flow Team]. This document provides a brief explanation of this team and how it is used.

Solution

The Process Flow Team is equal to a Solution Team... which aligns with the rest of Jira Align where teams exist at the Team, Program, and Portfolio levels. The Solution Team is documented here:

10X: Create Solution Teams

Process Flows are part of the Solutions layer element. The ability to add users to a Process Flow and the resulting Solution Team that gets created were intended as a precursor to building out the Solution layer.

The current implementation of Process Flow (Solution) Team members does not add functionality beyond the automatic membership in the associated Programs. However, future expansion of the Solution layer may allow for a Solutions Room similar to the Portfolio, Program, and Team rooms where membership will provide a means to track Team value for the assigned Solution / Process Flow.
