Summary

When attempting to select a team in the 'Requesting' dropdown field of a Dependency, some teams are either missing or greyed out in thee list of selectable teams.

Environment

Jira Align

Diagnosis

  • At least one team that exhibited this issue had been recently created

  • A review of which teams existed in the Teams grid and which were displayed in the dropdown confirmed that it is possible for teams to selectable, greyed out (and not selectable) or missing from the drop down

Cause

For a team to be displayed and selectable in the Requesting dropdown field of a Dependency, the team must be

  • An Agile or Kanban team - Program teams are displayed but greyed out

  • Active

  • Be linked to at least one sprint (if an Agile Team) - Typically a new Agile Team may not have a sprint immediately linked to it (especially if the team in question will be used with Jira Integration and sprint mappings have not taken place.)

Solution

  1. Go to Team > Manage +Show all > Teams

  2. Locate a the team and open the details

  3. In the Details tab check the team type is set to Agile or Kanban

  4. In the Details tab check that Active is set to Yes

  5. For an Agile Team, in the Sprints tab, check that at least one sprint is listed. If there are no sprints create one, but if integrated to Jira, create that sprint in Jira and check the sprint alignment and synchronization has then created a team sprint in Jira Align.
