Summary

The Due Date field does not appear when you create, view, or edit an issue.

Other fields appear and can be edited as expected.

Confirm "Schedule issues" permission

Permission schemes can only be edited by a user with the Administer Jira global permission.

Please ask your Jira Administrator to make any necessary changes on your behalf.

The ability to edit dates including Due Date on Jira issues is linked to the Schedule Issues permission. Ensure this permission has been granted to affected users.

  1. Go to Project settings > Permissions
  2. Scroll to the Schedule Issues permission
  3. Compare the project roles, users, and groups in this list with the affected user
  4. Edit the permission scheme to include the affected user, or edit the user's group membership appropriately

Check if the field has been hidden in the project's field configuration scheme

  1. Go to Project settings > Issues > Fields(for Jira Software projects) or Project settings > Fields (for Jira Service Management projects)
  2. Select Actions > Edit fields
  3. Select the Field configuration you want to edit
  4. Scroll to the Due date field and check if the field is hidden
  5. If so, click to Show to unhide it

Ensure the field is added to the correct issue screens

  1. Go to Project settings > Screens
  2. Find the Screen scheme you want to edit and select the pen icon
  3. Choose the Screen you want to edit (Create, Edit, or View screen)
  4. Search for the Due date field on this list
  5. If the field isn't listed, use the dropdown to search for Due date and select it
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for any additional screen types where the field doesn't appear
