Symptoms

When you create an issue through mail that is coming from an address that does not belong to a JIRA user, the mail handlers should add the following in the end of the Issue Description:

[Created via e-mail received from: name@domain.com]

However, this is not working and the mails are just being created and the Default Reporter is set as Reporter.

Cause

This is being caused by a known bug JRASERVER-32750 that is caused by having an username with mixed characters in the Default Reporter field.

Resolution

• Rename or change the username to a different one.
• Edit the Mail Handler and modify the Default Reporter.
