Symptoms

Sub-tasks on your dashboard do not show up under parent issue.

Normally, sub-task on your Task Board should show up ranked but always under the parent issue.

Cause

There is a third-party plugin that causes this to happen.

Resolution

  1. Check your installation for User Plugins.
  2. Go to Administration > Plugins and disable all of them (except JIRA Agile, of course).
  3. Perform a full re-index (through Administration > Indexing > Re-Index).

Possible plugins

This has been observed in JIRA 4.3.3 environments running:

  • JIRA Agile 5.6.2
  • Balsamiq Mockups 2.1.19

but feel free to disable all plugins and see which one does the trick.
