Unable to add thumbnail of GIF file automatically into the Comment box

Problem
When attaching the .gif file in the Comment box, the .gif image file is not automatically changed to thumbnail as other image files (.jpg or .png)
Diagnosis
Environment
- Jira Service Management 3.x , Jira 7.
Cause
By default, the thumbnail postfix will not be added automatically when attach a .gif file in the comment box:

Add the thumbnail postfix manually in the comment box as below
