What happens to Assets when JSM plan is downgraded to Standard/Free?

Summary
What happens to Assets data when downgrading the site plan from JSM Premium to JSM Standard or Free?
Environment
JSM Assets Cloud
Solution
The assets feature is exclusively offered on JSM Premium or Enterprise Plans. If the site is downgraded to JSM Standard/Free plan, access to Assets will be revoked – the Assets menu will still be visible, but users won't be able to access the Assets UI beyond the "Try it now" page.
Given that the Assets feature is unavailable on Standard/Free plans, the Assets custom fields will cease to appear on screens. Consequently, it's necessary to migrate input values to a suitable alternative Jira custom field.
This can be accomplished manually or by configuring an automation rule. With an automation rule in place, it's possible to copy the value of the Assets object field to a text field using the Automation Edit Issue action.
For example: If the Assets object custom field that stores the Company objects is called Company then use the Edit action to set the text custom field as the smart value of the attribute (say: Name) of Company. Set the custom field to the below value:
{{Company.Name}}
For detailed steps, refer to the KB article: How to copy from/to Asset field value to/from Jira text custom field using automation for Assets
Please note that all existing Assets data for your instance will remain intact, so if you decide to upgrade the site to JSM Premium again, you will still be able to access the current Assets data. However, the feature will not be accessible while on the JSM Standard/free plan. This is true for the Assets Custom Fields as well on Jira Issues, as the values entered into them will remain as well.
If you choose to cancel the JSM subscription, the data will be preserved for 60 days, as outlined in the Jira Data retention period document.
