Summary

Learn what to do when your migration plan fails with the error message "Groups contain permissions for products that do not exist on your cloud site".

Overview

When using the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) or the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA) to migrate data from Server to Cloud, the migration plan fails and one of the following messages appears:

Groups contain permissions for products that do not exist on your cloud site. Enable Jira Work Management in your cloud site and try again.
Groups contain permissions for products that do not exist on your cloud site. Enable Jira Software in your cloud site and try again.
Groups contain permissions for products that do not exist on your cloud site. Enable Jira Service Management in your cloud site and try again.
Groups contain permissions for products that do not exist on your cloud site. Enable Confluence in your cloud site and try again.

Solution

For the missing product that appears on the error message:

  1. Add the product to your Cloud site.
  2. Retry the migration.

Once it's completed, if you don't need that product, you can unsubscribe from the product you just added to remove it from your site (Cancel your site subscription).
