Summary

The documentation below outlines the migration of chart custom fields created at site creation during Jira cloud-to-cloud migration.

Overview

"[CHART] Date of First Response" and "[CHART] Time in Status" are chart custom fields created during a cloud site creation. When performing a cloud-to-cloud migration, a post-migration report indicates that these two fields are not supported:

The Date of First Response custom field is not supported via migration. The value for this issue will not be migrated
The Time in Status custom field is not supported via migration. The value for this issue will not be migrated

However, the values for these custom fields are indeed updated on the destination cloud. Hence, this article talks about the behavior of why the values exist for these fields on the destination cloud, even with the above warnings.

Chart Custom Field Value Population in Cloud

  • The Date of First Response custom field value auto-generates at the time of migration. It derives its value from the date of the first comment on the issue.

  • The Time in Status custom field value is generated based on the average time an issue has spent in a particular status.
