Summary

Learn what to do if Jira issues cannot be found after migrating a project, and the issue search returns one of the following error messages:

  • This project isn't available
  • The value <project_key> does not exist for the field 'project'
  • No issues were found matching your search

Solution

Validate the project's permissions

In the project, make sure Browse Projects permission is granted to you:

  1. Click on Project Settings.
  2. Click on Permissions.
  3. Identify the users, groups, or roles assigned to the Browse Projects permission.
    1. If there are no users, groups, or roles assigned to the Browse Projects permission, assign them:
      1. Click on Actions > Edit Permissions.
      2. Click on Update and grant the desired values for the Browse Projects permission.
    2. If groups or roles are linked to the permission, ensure you are part of them (Create and update groups and Manage project roles).

Validate the project's issue security

In the project, make sure the Issue Security Schemes are configured correctly.

  1. Click on Project Settings.
  2. Navigate to Issue > Security.
  3. See the list of Issue Security Schemes in the project.
    1. If there are Issue Security Schemes:
      1. Validate the values for users, groups, and project roles (Configure issue security schemes).
      2. Validate if the affected user is part of the groups and project roles.
    2. If there is no Issue Security Scheme, there is nothing to validate.
tip/resting Created with Sketch. Tip: Use the Permission Helper to troubleshoot users' permissions.
