Summary

Calendar feature in Jira software project does not display options to filter by "Release" and "Sprint" under "View settings".

Cause

In order for the calendar to show options to filter by "Release" and "Sprint" under "View Settings," the user must have "Browse projects" permission for all the projects included in the board filter.

Consider below example : Where one of the projects included in the filter lacked the "Browse projects" permission. 

• Board filter has two projects i..e, "Scrum" and "Scrum 2" project
  
• "Scrum" project has following permissions
  
  
• "Scrum 2" project has following permissions
  
  

As we can see in the above screenshot user lacks "Browse projects" permission in "Scrum 2" project.

Solution

By either excluding project that lacks Browser project permission from the board filter or granting it "Browse projects" permission, the options became visible again.
