Adding, editing, and deleting a field configuration scheme

As a Jira administrator, you can add new field configuration schemes to manage field configurations across multiple Jira application projects. 

How to add a new field configuration scheme

  1. Select > Issues.

  2. In the Fields section, click Field configuration schemes
  3. Click Add field configuration scheme
  4. Enter a name and description that will help you and your team know when you apply this field configuration scheme. 
  5. Click Add. You will now be able to associate issue types with the field configuration scheme. Check out Configuring a field configuration scheme for more information. 

How to copy a field configuration scheme

  1. Select > Issues.

  2. In the Fields section, click Field configuration schemes
  3. Find the field configuration scheme and click Copy.
  4. Enter a name and description for the new field configuration scheme. 
  5. Click Copy to create a new field configuration scheme with the same field configurations and issue types. 

How to edit and delete a field configuration scheme

  1. Select > Issues.

  2. In the Fields section, click Field configuration schemes
  3. To edit the name and description of a field configuration scheme, click Edit.
  4. To delete a field configuration scheme, click Delete. Note that you will only be able to delete a scheme that is not associated with any projects.
