Configuring the default dashboard

When users log in to Jira Cloud applications for the first time, they see the default dashboard. As a Jira administrator, you can change the gadgets and the layout of this default dashboard to show the most important information for your team. Note that the default dashboard cannot be deleted. 

How to add a gadget to the default system dashboard

  1. Choose > System
  2. In the User interface section, click System dashboard.
  3. Click Add Gadget. To view all available gadgets, click Load all gadgets.
  4. Find the gadget you want to add. You can also filter the gadgets by searching for or clicking a category on the left.
  5. Click Add gadget for the gadget you want to add.

If you add a gadget that not all users have permission to, they simply won't see that gadget on the default dashboard. For example, the Administration gadget will not be visible to non-admin users.

How to edit the layout of the default system dashboard

  1. Choose > System
  2. In the User interface section, click System dashboard.
  3. Click Edit Layout
  4. Select a layout for your default system dashboard.

How to view the default system dashboard as a wallboard

After configuring the default system dashboard and adding the gadgets that your team needs, you can view the dashboard as a wallboard.

  1. Choose > System
  2. In the User interface section, click System dashboard.
  3. Click Tools > View as Wallboard

How to set up and view a wallboard slideshow

To set up and view a wallboard slideshow, you need to set up multiple dashboards first. This means you'll need to create custom dashboards and then view them as a wallboard slideshow.
