Symptoms

  1. Blank 'What's new' dialog prompted when logging in to Confluence:
  2. Browse > What's New would result with the same blank dialog.
  3. No configuration on 'What's New' dialog URL (stored in your Confluence help-paths.properties file)

Cause

Override for What's New iframe source (whats-new-iframe-src-override) module from Confluence What's New Plugin is enabled when by default it should be disabled. 

whats-new-iframe-src-override flag provides a way for internal and plugin developers to override the source of the content shown in the dialog. It's disabled because we hardly ever need it.


Resolution

  1. Go to Confluence Admin > Manage add-ons
  2. Find Confluence What's New Plugin

  3. Disable Override for What's New iframe source (whats-new-iframe-src-override) module
