Not Permitted Error after LDAP Integration
If you're experiencing this problem after an upgrade to Confluence 3.5, please open a support ticket. Please see 'Unrecognised user management configuration can not be upgraded' When Upgrading to Confluence 3.5 Due to User Management Configuration and Upgrade Troubleshooting.
Symptoms
After integrating Confluence with LDAP, users receive a 'not permitted' error when logging in.
Cause
To gain access to Confluence, users must be in a group that has the 'can-use' global permissions. By default, local users are placed into the confluence-users group, which has this permission, but LDAP groups do not. See Global Permissions Overview for details of the 'can-use' permission.
Resolution
With the local Confluence admin user that you reserved, go to Administration >> Global Permissions and add the appropriate groups. This is Step 6 from Add LDAP Integration.
