Due to a bug in Jira, all versions starting from 7.4.0 until 9.4.21, 9.12.8, 9.15.1 cannot be compiled. JRASERVER-66224 - Getting issue details... STATUS tracked and resolved this. While you can still download and view the source code for these older versions, some required packages cannot be downloaded to complete the compile process.
Purpose
Jira and Confluence source codes are available for our customers to download. We allow them to modify the source to develop bug fixes, customizations, or additional features to suit their needs.
While you can customize the Jira code, Atlassian support offering does not cover such customizations, i.e., the support team is not expected to support your customization.
Normally, customers may download the Jira source by logging in to MyAtlassian using their account. However, only the Commercial and Academic license holders are entitled to download the Jira source files. You may check our Who has access to product source code? to know more about the Jira source.
If still you are not able to download the source of the older Jira version (before Jira 7), you can download it from this link: https://my.atlassian.com/download/source/jira-software
For Jira 7 Core, you can download it from this link: https://my.atlassian.com/download/source/jira-core
