Due to bug in Jira, all version starting with 7.4.0 and higher are not able to be compiled.   There is a bug tracking this defect in JRASERVER-66224 - Getting issue details... STATUS .  While you can still download and view the source code, there are some required packages that cannot be downloaded in order to complete the compile process.   If this inability to compile Jira impacts you, please vote on the bug ticket.


Purpose

Jira and Confluence source code is available for our customer to download and we allow them to modify the source to develop bug fixes, customizations or additional features to suits their needs.

Normally, customers may download the Jira source by logging in to MyAtlassian using their account. However, note that only the Commercial and Academic license holders are entitled to download the Jira source files. You may check our Who has access to product source code? and Do I get access to the source code? to know more about the Jira source. 


If still, you are not able to download the source of older Jira version (before Jira 7), you can download from this link: https://my.atlassian.com/download/source/jira-software

For Jira 7 Core, you can download from this link: https://my.atlassian.com/download/source/jira-core
