Unable to Integrate with JIRA due to Disabled Remote API Access
Symptoms
The following error appears in the log:

java.io.IOException: Failed to authenticate with FishEye. See logs for more details.

javax.servlet.ServletException: Remote API not activated for this JIRA installation.

Cause
Remote API access in JIRA is turned off.
Resolution
- In JIRA, ensure that the credentials provided to connect to Fisheye is valid (
Administration >> FishEye Configuration
). - In JIRA, ensure that remote API access is enabled (
Administration >> General Configuration >> Accept remote API calls
).
