Your dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in. The JIRA Software dashboard is like your car's dashboard. But instead of showing your speed and fuel level, it shows important information about your work - like your projects, your activities and your issues.

The default dashboard

Each project has a default dashboard, which only the administrator can modify. But if you want something different, try making your own! You can create multiple dashboards for different projects, or multiple dashboards for one big project.

On this page:

Creating a dashboard

  1. At the top right of the Dashboard, click the Tools menu.
  2. Select either Create Dashboard to create a blank dashboard, or Copy Dashboard to create a copy of the dashboard you are currently viewing.
  3. Name and describe your dashboard.
  4. Fill out the rest of the fields as applicable.
  5. Click Add.

Choosing a dashboard layout

To choose a different layout for your dashboard page (e.g. three columns instead of two):

  1. At the top right of the Dashboard, click the 'Edit Layout' link. A selection of layouts will be displayed:
  2. Select your preferred layout.

Sharing and editing your dashboard

Want to share your dashboard with your teammates? Maybe you want to change the dashboard's name? You can, by following these steps:

  1. At the top right of the Dashboard, click Tools Edit
  2. Edit the settings as required. If you want to share your dashboard, make sure to click Add for each new permission.
