Enable agile features
Are you on the right help page?
The following information only applies to team-managed projects.
To check which type project you need help with, look at the bottom of your project’s left-hand sidebar:
If you see an icon stating You’re in a team-managed project with Give feedback and Learn more menu items, you're in a team-managed project.
If you don't, you're in a company-managed project. Check out our company-managed project documentation.
Next-gen projects and boards allow you to switch on any features you need, and ignore the ones you don't. We recommend only enabling the features your team needs and disabling everything else. This way, your project doesn't get cluttered and your team can focus on the things that matter.
To enable agile features:
- If not already there, navigate to your next-gen project.
- In your project sidebar, select Project settings > Features.
Use the toggles to enable and disable features for your project.
You can enable any of the following:
Roadmap
The roadmap helps your team visualize how their work builds up into long-term goals and initiatives. You can use the roadmap to track dependencies and minimize risk or delays. Learn more about the roadmap.
Backlog
The backlog view is a dedicated space for defining and prioritizing work your team will take on now and into the future. Learn more about the backlog.
Sprints
Sprints represent what your team thinks they can achieve in specific periods of time, usually two-week intervals. Teams that work in a Scrum method use sprints to help them get a grip on the speed their team delivers and plan work accordingly. To use sprints, you must enable the backlog. Learn more about sprints.
Project issue navigator
The project issue navigator lets you and your team view a list of the issues in your project. You can search for one or more issues by using the text search field and built-in filters. Learn more about the project issue navigator.
Reports
Reports help you track and analyze your team's work throughout the course of your project. Jira Software's next-gen projects come with a few different reports that can give you insights into your team’s performance. Learn more about reports.
Estimation
Better understand how fast your team can complete tasks by estimating each issue in the backlog and comparing those estimates to how long it takes to execute the task. Learn more about estimation.
Pages
Create, share and collaborate on all your project docs in one place. Requires Confluence by Atlassian. Learn more about pages.
Releases & versions
Releases represent points in time for your project. They can be used to schedule how features are rolled out to your customers, or as a way to organize work that has been completed for the project. Learn more about releases and versions.
Next-gen projects are still growing in power and functionality. We've got more agile features coming soon. Check out our public roadmap.
