Debug automation rules using the log
Service Deskers,
Here's a short update on something coming your way soon (like today or tomorrow).
We added a log for investigating and troubleshooting automation rules.
To view the log:
- Go to Project settings > Automation.
- In the entry for the rule you want to check, select View log.
The log shows details of when and how the rule executed. It shows things like:
- the user the rule ran as
- the issue that ran the rule
- whether it was successful or failed
In a log entry, you can see more details about the rule's execution. Select Show details to see:
- the IF conditions met during the rule's execution
- the THEN action taken
- and, if it failed, any errors that occurred
Here's what those shiny icons mean:
Icon | Means… |
---|---|
Success. The rule ran this step without any problems. | |
N/A. The rule didn't touch or need to touch this step. The condition was met successfully by another part of the rule. | |
Not met. The IF condition was not met. | |
Fail. A misconfiguration prevented the rule from executing this step. |
That's all for now,
