Update: Knowledge bases must be on the same domain as your service desk
Hello Service Deskers,
We're here with an update on the timeline for changes to links between your knowledge base and your service desk. We announced in December that we will soon only support links to service desks from knowledge bases that are on the same domain. So if your knowledge base is hosted on a Confluence space that has a different domain address than your Jira Service Desk, the links between them will no longer work after Oct 17, 2018.
Many of you have already made the changes so don't worry, now that your knowledge base and service desk are on the same domain, you're all set. No need to do anything more. If you still have links in your portal from a knowledge base hosted on a different domain, then we recommend that you migrate your Confluence space to the same cloud domain as your Jira Service Desk in order to retain knowledge base functionality as before and to take advantage of the great new additions we'll be adding in soon.
We have recently released a new Help Center with a browsable knowledge base and there will be plenty more to come!
How to migrate
If your service desk is linked to Confluence Cloud on a different domain, you can export your space and import it to a new Confluence Cloud site on the same domain as your service desk project. Or, backup the whole site and import it to a new Confluence Cloud on your service desk domain.
If your service desk is linked to Confluence Server, contact Atlassian Support for help migrating to Confluence Cloud.
Thank you,
The Jira Service Desk team
