Migrating a Confluence Server site to Confluence Cloud

The Cloud Migration Assistant for Confluence app replaces the need to manually export and import individual spaces one by one, allowing you to move spaces from Server to Cloud in a seamless, straightforward process.

When to use this app

  • After migrating your Jira Server instance (with your users) to Jira Cloud, and you are migrating to a new Confluence Cloud site.
  • After you've migrated your users, and you're migrating an entire Confluence Server instance to a new Confluence Cloud site.
  • Merging Confluence Server spaces into an existing Confluence Cloud site.
  • Atlassian Support recommended using the Cloud Migration Assistant.

See Cloud Migration Assistant for Confluence to learn how to plan and perform the migration.

Important details

The Cloud Migration Assistant does not migrate your users to Confluence Cloud. We recommend adding your users to Confluence Cloud before migrating spaces.

This app requires that your source Confluence instance is running version 5.10.x or later.

Apps

After migrating your data, you'll need to re-install any compatible apps.

There's currently no way to migrate your Questions for Confluence and Team Calendars for Confluence data from Server to Cloud.

Some third-party apps are only available for Server, and will no longer be available after you migrate. You can check whether your essential apps are available for Confluence Cloud on the Atlassian Marketplace.
