How to fix a failed ATST 2.x manual upgrade

We’ve released a new major version of Atlassian Troubleshooting and Support Tools (ATST) — ATST 2. This new version is compatible only with products using Platform 7:

  • Jira 10.0 and above

  • Confluence 9.0 and above

  • Bamboo 10.0 and above

  • Bitbucket 9.0 and above

  • Crowd 6.0 and above

We don’t recommend trying to install ATST 2.x manually on older versions of the products because it will result in different failures depending on your version. For more information on the Platform 7 changes, see Prepare your Data Center app for Platform 7.

If you have installed ATST 2.x on an older version of a product, follow the steps below to reinstate a compatible version of ATST.

1. For product versions that are not compatible with Java 17

If you tried to install ATST 2.x on a product version that isn’t compatible with Java 17, Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) won’t be able to install ATST, and it will disappear from the instance. To resolve this:

  1. Download the latest compatible version of Atlassian Troubleshooting and Support Tools from Marketplace (see the list below).

  2. Install ATST manually through UPM.

2. For product versions that are compatible with Java 17

If you tried to install ATST 2.x on a product version that is compatible with Java 17, Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) will be able to install ATST, but will not be able to enable it. To resolve this:

  1. Uninstall the ATST 2.x app from UPM (see Uninstalling apps).

  2. Download the latest compatible version of Atlassian Troubleshooting and Support Tools from Marketplace (see the list below).

  3. Install ATST manually through UPM.
