Highlights include:

Multiline suggestions

For: END USERS

We continue to improve the pull request experience. You can now add suggestions to specific line ranges in the diff view. To add your code change suggestions, just like for adding comments, simply drag and drop the Plus icon across lines of code in your pull request or in an individual commit.

This feature enables reviewers to deliver more precise feedback and provide suggestions on specific code blocks. Comment reviewers can apply suggestions and create commits with just one click. Check out Commenting on a pull request for more information.

New login experience with two-step verification

For: END USERS ADMINS

We’ve overhauled the Bitbucket Data Center login experience and added a second authentication layer to keep your account secure.

You can now set up two-step verification and verify your identity with an authentication app when you log in to protect your Atlassian account. Explore how to manage two-step verification

Storing Git LFS objects in S3

For: ADMINS

We’ve added the ability to store and serve Git LFS objects from AWS S3. This allows storage and request load to be offloaded to an AWS S3 bucket, decreasing the load directed at Bitbucket itself and enabling greater scalability.

Check out how to configure and migrate existing LFS data.

Supporting multiple availability zones for Bitbucket Mesh

For: ADMINS

Starting from Bitbucket 9.3, you can deploy Mesh nodes across multiple availability zones, providing increased availability and redundancy for your repositories. To maximize the benefits of this feature, it is essential to assign multiple availability zones to your Mesh nodes. Bitbucket Mesh will then distribute your repositories across these zones, ensuring they remain accessible even in the event of a zone failure. Learn more about Multiple availability zones for Bitbucket Mesh.

Other improvements

Using HTTP Access tokens at Project / Repository Level as Basic Auth

For: ADMINS

We’ve added Basic Authentication support for tokens at both the Project and Repository levels, enabling seamless authentication with Git repositories.

New security alerts on admin login without two-step verification

For: ADMINS

Admins will now receive security alerts when an admin user without two-step verification settings logs in. See Monitor security threats for more details.
