Bitbucket Data Center 9.5 release notes
7 January 2025
The Bitbucket Data Center 9.5 release is now available for upgrade.
Highlights include:
Default reviewer groups for pull requests
For: ADMINS
Add reviewer groups as default reviewers of pull requests so that you no longer need to manually select individual default reviewers. When you create a pull request, the default reviewers from the selected groups will be immediately added to it.
To set up a group as default reviewers, select existing reviewer groups when adding default reviewers. Start adding reviewer groups as default reviewers
Rotate your encryption keys like clockwork
For: ADMINS
Bitbucket already automatically encrypts plaintext secrets through default secrets encryption. Now, you can further protect your system through encryption key rotation. Use API calls to re-encrypt your existing secrets with a new key, and to manage your inactive keys. This extra security is available for both single-node and clustered environments.

Logging and profiling for mirrors
For: ADMINS
If both the mirror farm and upstream are upgraded to Bitbucket 9.5.0 and above, the admin console allows you to toggle logging and profiling for mirror farms. This allows quicker troubleshooting of issues without restarting the mirror farm.
Other improvements
Adaptive throttling now incorporates memory usage
For: ADMINS
Adaptive throttling for SCM hosting operations (for example, Git clone, fetch, and push) now incorporates memory usage when calculating the number of hosting tickets available. This helps to reduce the chance of the hosting load exhausting memory on under-provisioned systems, and reduces the need for manual tuning of adaptive throttling properties.
New endpoint for fetching delayed-sync mirrored repositories
For: ADMINS
A new REST end-point is added for fetching repositories that are delayed for syncing on mirrors. For more information please visit REST API docs.
