ADG in Server release
Today at last brings a new look and feel to Bitbucket Server!
ADG in Server is based on the new Atlassian design and contains updates to color palette, typography and icons, and doesn't include any of the navigation changes that are unique to Atlassian cloud products.
These design changes are implemented via an upgrade to AUI. The AUI Upgrade Guide has details of all the recent changes.
We hope you enjoy the fresh, modern new look as much as we do!
Watch Repositories
It can sometimes be hard to surface important information across repositories. We know it's a struggle to keep up with changes and to work out exactly what, when and where things have changed. So in 5.10 we've added the Watched repositories page, where you can now view and manage all of your watched repositories.
You can now watch a repository and get notifications for pull request and push activity within that particular repository.
Granular notification settings
We've made sure there are granular notification settings to make sure you are only recieving the information you want and need.
For pull request activity, you can choose to be subscribed to nothing, or subscribe to:
- state changes (such as when a pull request is opened or merged)
- all pull request activity.
For push activity, you can choose to be subscribed to nothing, or subscribe to:
- pushes to the default branch
- pushes to all branches.
Repository send mode
The emails you receive as a repository watcher, have separate send mode settings to the emails you receive as a pull request watcher. E.g. you can choose to receive pull request emails immediately, and repository emails batched.
Immediate repository emails
Immediate repository emails for pull requests use the same design as existing immediate notifications.
We've also added a new email for immediate push notifications.
Batched repository emails
Batched repository emails have a new header which shows a summary of the notifications. If you are subscribed to pull request state changes, all of the state change notifications are now shown in one section.
If you've subscribed to all pull request activity, each pull request will have its own section.
If you are subscribed to pushes, a push activity section is now included in the batch email.
Emails (including existing pull request emails) have had an ADGS refresh, and are now more consistent overall.
To read more about this, you can read our updated Notifications section.
New events for Webhooks
Due to popular demand, there are two new events available for Webhooks:
- Pull request modified
- PR reviewers updated
Pull request modified will trigger when a title, description or the target branch of a pull request is saved.
PR reviewers updated will trigger when reviewers to a pull request are added or removed.
Bitbucket Data Center sample deployment and monitoring strategy
For those of you interested in how we do things here at Atlassian, we're very excited to announce the first in a series of articles giving specific examples for how we deploy and monitor Data Center instances.
This is the first time Atlassian has run a series of articles like this, we're hoping they will bring a lot of helpful tips to our customers who ask for Atlassian to provide more information in this space.
Look and Feel Plugin upgrade
The look and feel plugin was previously relying on LESS variables in core.
We have updated the look and feel plugin with fixes, so if you encounter undefined LESS variables, we recommend you upgrade to the latest version on MPAC.
