Sharing and exporting plan data
If you're using the improved planning interface, this page is for you. If you're using live plans, head to Live plans (legacy).
Advanced Roadmaps is designed to make it easy for you to share your roadmap with stakeholders. This can be done by giving people permission to access plans, but there are also a number of options for sharing a plan externally, including the option to download plan data so you can work with it elsewhere. These options are available via the Share or Export buttons in your plan, as explained below.
Export a plan
Above the plan’s timeline, click Export > Spreadsheet (.csv). This will immediately generate and download a CSV file of the plan’s data, based on the current filters and hierarchy range applied to the plan.
Share a plan
When you share a plan, you’re sharing a snapshot of what you currently have configured on the roadmap, for example: issue hierarchy, filters, timeline date range, view settings, and more.
Share options for a plan
For people to see what you’re sharing, they must have permission to view your plan.
Depending on who you’re sharing the plan with, you may want to hide warnings on the roadmap (if you have them turned on) to show a clean view to stakeholders. To do this you'll need to clear the Warnings checkbox in View settings before you generate the link. Learn more.
To share a plan:
- Above the plan's timeline, click Share.
- Select a share option:
- Link — A unique URL for the plan, and its current view settings, for pasting into a browser.
- Embed — Add the iFrame code snippet to any HTML page that supports URL embedding.
- Confluence — If you have Confluence Server or Confluence Data Center, you can use a macro to display you plan on a Confluence page. Learn more below.
- Click Copy.
To close the pop-up window, click outside of it, or click Cancel.
Using the Confluence macro
To embed a plan in a Confluence page, a Confluence administrator must download and install the Advanced Roadmaps plans in Confluence app from the Atlassian Marketplace. The app gives you access to the Advanced Roadmaps plan macro for Confluence Server and Data Center, versions 6.5.0 and above.
To download and install the app:
- Go to the Atlassian Marketplace, and choose the Server or Data Center hosting option.
- Follow the instructions under the Installation tab.
Similarly, you can use the HTML macro to add HTML code to a Confluence page, but enabling this macro can make your Confluence instance vulnerable to cross-scripting attacks. Learn more.
To use the macro in a Confluence page:
- Follow the instructions to insert a macro, then search for and select the Advanced Roadmaps plan macro.
- In the macro window, paste the link generated in the Share plan modal (see steps above) into the URL field.
Choose a height setting for the macro to display at on the page.
Click Insert.
We recommend a minimum height of 700px for an effective viewing experience.
