Here are some important notes on upgrading to Crowd 6.1. To learn about new features, check out the release notes.

Here's some important information you should know about:

Crowd 6.1 introduces support for creating an outgoing application link to connect to an SMTP mail server. Application links aren't included in the XML backup and are currently stored only in the database. More about creating an outgoing application link

After restoring Crowd, ensure that the SMTP mail configuration is working correctly by sending a test email when using OAuth 2.0 to connect to the mail server.

 Supported platforms

There are no changes to platforms supported by Crowd.

App developers

Crowd added an API to com.atlassian.crowd.manager.application.ApplicationService and com.atlassian.crowd.manager.directory.DirectoryManager for setting and retrieving the local status of a user. More about the API changes
