Confluence 10.2 beta release notes
Development releases are not production ready. Development releases are snapshots of the ongoing Confluence development process. While we try to keep these releases stable, they have not undergone the same degree of testing as a full release, and could contain features that are incomplete or may change or be removed before the next full release.
No upgrade path. Because development releases represent work in progress, we cannot provide a supported upgrade path between development releases, or from any development release to a final release. You may not be able to migrate any data you store in a Confluence development release to a future Confluence release.
Atlassian does not provide support for development releases.

Search and WebDAV strict patch settings limited to system admins
For: ADMINS
We’ve clarified the distinction between the global administrative permissions: Confluence Administrator and Confluence System Administrator. Access to the following sensitive features is now more clearly defined to ensure that only the appropriate roles have the required permissions:
Search configuration: only Confluence System Administrators can configure search settings.
Strict path checking of a WebDAV plugin: only Confluence System Administrators can disable and enable strict path checking.

About this Long Term Support release
Confluence 10.2 is a Long Term Support release. This means we'll provide bug fix releases until 10.2 reaches end of support to address critical security, stability, data integrity, and performance issues.
OpenSearch for Confluence Data Center
As your Confluence site grows, you need a search that keeps up with your team’s pace. That’s why Confluence Data Center now offers OpenSearch as an opt-in alternative to the default Lucene search platform. We recommend switching to OpenSearch because it offers performance, scalability, and reliability improvements over Lucene.
We’re sharing a guide that explains the benefits of using OpenSearch as an alternative to the default Lucene search platform in Confluence Data Center. It includes:
Key differences between OpenSearch and Lucene
Benchmark results that show OpenSearch delivers faster search and better scalability
Guidance on when and why to switch, with further configuration steps
Explore the full documentation for more details and performance test results
