Confluence 10.2 beta release notes

Atlassian presents Confluence 10.2.0-rc1. This is a snapshot of our work in progress, primarily focused on providing app developers an opportunity to test their apps and make any required changes in advance of an official release.

Confluence 10.2.0-rc1 is available to download now.

Development releases are not production ready. Development releases are snapshots of the ongoing Confluence development process. While we try to keep these releases stable, they have not undergone the same degree of testing as a full release, and could contain features that are incomplete or may change or be removed before the next full release.

No upgrade path. Because development releases represent work in progress, we cannot provide a supported upgrade path between development releases, or from any development release to a final release. You may not be able to migrate any data you store in a Confluence development release to a future Confluence release.

Atlassian does not provide support for development releases.

About this Long Term Support release

Confluence 10.2 is a Long Term Support release. This means we'll provide bug fix releases until 10.2 reaches end of support to address critical security, stability, data integrity, and performance issues.

OpenSearch for Confluence Data Center

As your Confluence site grows, you need a search that keeps up with your team’s pace. That’s why Confluence Data Center now offers OpenSearch as an opt-in alternative to the default Lucene search platform. We recommend switching to OpenSearch because it offers performance, scalability, and reliability improvements over Lucene.

We’re sharing a guide that explains the benefits of using OpenSearch as an alternative to the default Lucene search platform in Confluence Data Center. It includes:

  • Key differences between OpenSearch and Lucene

  • Benchmark results that show OpenSearch delivers faster search and better scalability

  • Guidance on when and why to switch, with further configuration steps
