Crucible 3.7 release notes

27 January 2015

Today's release of Crucible 3.7 includes some great improvements for branch reviews, as well as better support for Git and Mercurial.

If you are updating an earlier version of Crucible, please read the Crucible upgrade guide and the End of Support Announcements for Crucible. The Crucible 3.7 changelog is at the bottom of this page.

Branch reviews are now automatically updated

Since Crucible 3.6 you've been able to easily create a review for the particular repository branch you've been working on.

Now, with Crucible 3.7, your branch review is quickly and automatically updated whenever new commits are made to the repository branch. All review participants get notified and are able to resume their reviews immediately. Just remember to create a review for your branch first!

Create a branch review from the activity stream

You can now create a branch review directly from the activity stream.

Once your changeset is indexed and visible in the activity stream, just click on the cog and choose Create review for branch. You'll see the option to add a branch to the review.

Other branch review improvements

We think you'll like these other improvements for branch reviews too. You can remove files from branch reviews and they won't be added again on next update, unless there were further changes to those files. And performance has been improved too – adding content to a review is now up to 10x faster. Read more about Branch reviews.

Better support for Git and Mercurial

We've improved Crucible's support for the two most popular distributed version control systems on the market, Git and Mercurial.

Not only have we added support for Git 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 and Mercurial 3.x., but our intensive testing has revealed that some Git repositories are being indexed up to 8% faster, compared with Git 1.9.1. See Supported platforms.

The latest versions of Git and Mecurial have fixes for the recently discovered CVE-2014-9390 vulnerability. Crucible is not directly affected by this vulnerability, but we recommend upgrading all your Git and Mercurial clients to the latest release. See Atlassian update for Git and Mercurial vulnerability.
