Capacity view
The capacity view shows how much of a team's potential work capacity is being used, and helps you to see potential bottlenecks and how you balance the workload between your teams. The capacity view will help you to understand how to allocate your upcoming projects.

Team's velocity fly-out
The team's velocity chart shows forecasted velocity taking into account your team members availability. It also shows the past velocity based on JIRA Software sprints.

Hiding the timeline
You can now hide and re-display the timeline.

Stages and skills
With the stages you will be able to define work that must happen sequentially, and skills will allow you to schedule work on a single issue that can be done simultaneously by certain people. This feature make scheduling more realistic by ensuring that only people with the relevant skills can work on issues. This feature is not available on Cloud yet.

Dependencies
Now you can set scheduling dependencies between issues. This feature is not available on Cloud yet.

Committing assignees to JIRA
From now on, assigning a single team member to an issue in the plan will also update the issue assignee in JIRA upon committing your changes. This feature is not available on Cloud yet.

The Reports section gives you a graphical overview of the different aspects of your plan such as release and sprint information. Themes are high level strategic focus areas, value streams or investment categories used to set priorities and define where teams will devote most of their time.
Upgrading Portfolio is free to all customers with active Portfolio for JIRA software maintenance.

New features in Live Plans
Progress tracking
Track the progress of your JIRA application issues directly from your Portfolio plan by connecting a Live Plan with your boards and projects.
In the scope view, you'll find a new progress bar will be displayed for each issue, and for parent issues as an aggregate of all their children. You can also check the progress of releases in the release view.

Team members availability and absences
Portfolio brings you full flexibility to configure team members' availability. Keep your schedule realistic by seeing who is available to work on which team, and for how long.

Team members column
The scope view has a new column where you can automatically or manually choose the team members that will be working on an issue. The schedule will take the issue assignees into account.

Use the issue assignee for scheduling automatically
Portfolio features the automatic import and match of issues assignees from your JIRA application into your Portfolio plan. You can also define up to which hierarchy level Portfolio tries to match the assignee of an issue to the corresponding team member.

Live Plans Labs
This release contains the new Live Plans as a Labs feature, enabling you to test some exciting new functionalities and providing you with a sneak preview of new features coming in future releases. Please note that this upgrade does not impact the behavior or functionality of existing Portfolio for JIRA plans. Instead, Live Plans will be available next to existing plan types upon plan creation.

With Live Plans, the Portfolio for JIRA team is working towards a seamless integration with JIRA Software and agile boards. Some benefits of the new integration model include:
- Dynamic issue loading with filters so the plan is always up to date.
- Configurable hierarchy with arbitrary levels.
- Explicit support for subtasks.
- Simple commit of changes made in Portfolio to your JIRA application, with a transparent list of all the changes.
- Global shared teams and plan-specific team management.
- Dynamic loading of issue rank, versions, sprints, and issue links into Portfolio for JIRA.
