The Atlassian JIRA Portfolio team announces the release of JIRA Portfolio 1.7.3. This point release contains several updates and fixes. Upgrading to JIRA Portfolio 1.7.3 is free to all customers with active JIRA Portfolio software maintenance.

New in JIRA Portfolio 1.7.2
Auto Team Assignment in Release Streams
Reduce scheduling time by setting a dedicated team or multiple teams to a particular release stream. When the backlog is updated, the team(s) will be auto-assigned to the releases in that stream.
New permissions settings
Set global read-only permissions
Define roles for groups of JIRA users that include administrator, user, restricted-user and viewer.
Set plan level permissions
Select groups or individual users and give user level or read-only access in the selected plan.

Story point estimation
JIRA Portfolio now allows estimation and forecasting to be performed using story points and team velocity.
- Plan and forecast using story points
- Calculate team velocity from previous sprints
- Auto-adjust velocity for team member availability
- Visualize forecasted team velocity on upcoming sprints
- Import story point estimates directly from JIRA

Track progress based on your requirements! Now JIRA Portfolio supports more ways to track progress on your linked JIRA issues.
- Improved graphical representation of progress includes the ratio of un-estimated items
