Below are some important notes on upgrading to Jira Service Management 10.3.x. For details on the new features and improvements in this release, see:

 Upgrade notes

We normally don’t introduce new features in the Long Term Support release but rather consolidate the ones we've introduced since the last Enterprise releases. See our change log for all the features and fixes between the last LTS releases

Changes to supported platforms

See what changes have been made to supported platforms since the last Jira LTS release:

End of support

We've removed support for:

  • Oracle 12c R2
  • Amazon Aurora on PostgreSQL 10
  • Amazon Aurora on PostgreSQL 11
  • H2 database engine
  • Java 8
  • Java 11
  • .bin and .exe binary installers

Binary installers are available again for Jira 10.3 LTS only.

We’ve unbundled:

  • Java (due to the binary installers removal)

Binary installers are available again for Jira 10.3 LTS only.

Confirmed support

We’ve confirmed support for:

  • Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server for one primary node only

 App developers

See Preparing for Jira 10.3 for any important changes regarding apps.

 Upgrade procedure

To help you upgrade to the latest and greatest:

  • See Upgrading Jira applications for complete upgrade procedures, including all available upgrade methods and pre-upgrade steps.
  • For a more tailored upgrade, go to Jira administration, then Applications, and then Plan your upgrade. We’ll recommend a version to upgrade to, run pre-upgrade checks, and provide you with a custom upgrade guide with step-by-step instructions.
