Compatible applications
If you're looking for compatible Jira applications, look no further:
This means we'll provide bug-fix releases until 10.3 reaches end of life, to address critical security, stability, data integrity, and performance issues. See our bug fix and security bug fix policies for more information.
What's changed since the last LTS release
A lot has changed since we released Jira Service Management 5.12 and Jira Software 9.12, which were the last Long Term Support releases. Have a look at our change logs to get a quick roll-up of the most important changes.
Improvements introduced in this release
Jira Service Management Data Center 10.3 also introduces the following set of changes that fix known issues, boost performance, or improve the overall user experience.
Dark theme is officially here
Some time ago, we implemented a beta version of the dark theme with some unsupported areas but with this release, we’re launching the official experience! Now, you can enjoy the enhanced content readability and visual harmony across work environments. This also means better visuals and less eye strain. Try it now: go to your Profile, then Theme, and select Light, Dark, or Match system.
Just one last milestone left—we’re actively working on making the Plans view available in dark theme. Stay tuned!
Light theme becomes the new default
In Jira 10.3, the light theme takes over as the default, replacing the now deprecated original theme. This means that the default Look and Feel configuration in Jira is aligned with the light theme. We recommend switching to the light theme for a better experience, as the original theme will be gradually deprecated.
ProForma app becomes free of charge
Starting from this release, ProForma is free of charge for the Jira Service Management licenses. However, if you haven’t used ProForma before the upgrade, you still need to install it manually on your instance from the Marketplace. If you’re using Jira Service Management 10.2 or earlier, or any Jira Software version, ProForma still requires a valid paid license. Want to switch to the free version of ProForma? Read our ProForma installing and licensing guide
Performance reports
We run extensive performance tests to compare our Long Term Support releases to see how the new features affect Jira, and to make sure we’re not introducing any performance regressions. LTS releases are usually a few versions apart, so the improvements in performance are much more visible than between smaller, feature releases.
We're working on bringing the performance reports as soon as possible.
