Confluence 7.18 beta release notes
Development releases are not production ready. Development releases are snapshots of the ongoing Confluence development process. While we try to keep these releases stable, they have not undergone the same degree of testing as a full release, and could contain features that are incomplete or may change or be removed before the next full release.
No upgrade path. Because development releases represent work in progress, we cannot provide a supported upgrade path between development releases, or from any development release to a final release. You may not be able to migrate any data you store in a Confluence development release to a future Confluence release.
Atlassian does not provide support for development releases.

Changing the logging level in a cluster just got easier
For DATA CENTER
Sometimes it's the small things that make a big difference to your day. On the Logging and Profiling administration page, you can now choose which cluster node you want to apply your changes to. No need to navigate to each node in your browser.
This applies to log levels, marking logs, and profiling settings.
Connect to cloud products with secure application tunnels
For DATA CENTER SERVER
Integrating Atlassian cloud and self-managed (Data Center and Server) products through application links requires opening your network for incoming connections, which isn’t something everyone can do. To solve this problem, we’re now introducing application tunnels.
Application tunnels use network tunneling to create a secure pathway between your organization in Atlassian Cloud and the products in your network. You can use this pathway to tunnel application links and integrate your products in a secure way. Thanks to that, your products can communicate with one another, while you keep your network safe and sound.
Application tunnels are available for Confluence 7.4 and later. Learn more about application tunnels
New content API
For DATA CENTER SERVER
We have added a new REST API endpoint, rest/content/scan. The new endpoint provides better performance than rest/content, and adds a cursor parameter which can be used for pagination. It can only be used to browse pages (not blogs), and doesn't support offset , title , or creationdate parameters.

Supported platforms changes
End of support for PostgreSQL 10
As previously announced, PostgreSQL 10 is no longer supported.
Advance Notice: End of support for Oracle 12c
Confluence 7.20.x will be the last release to support Oracle 12c.
Advance Notice: End of support for UTF8 encoding for MySQL
We will end support for UTF8 encoding for MySQL databases in Confluence 8.0. If you run Confluence with a MySQL database, you should use UTF8MB4 encoding.
Advance Notice: Removal of Usage stats
We will remove the Usage Stats feature in Confluence 8.0.
