JIRA Service Desk 3.8.x release notes

6 September 2017

The Atlassian JIRA Service Desk team is proud to announce the release of JIRA Service Desk 3.8.1.

In this release, we've been working on a few minor tweaks, and we've been busy fixing bugs to improve the overall experience with JIRA Service Desk.

We've also added the ability to be able to import SLAs from existing projects. This will save you time recreating SLAs to use in new projects.

In case you missed it, we also recently (like 2 days ago!) released JIRA Service Desk 3.7.0 which contained a new feature called canned responses. That's also included in this release of JIRA Service Desk.

We can't keep improving JIRA Service Desk without your comments and suggestions, so please feel free to send them directly to us in our JIRA instance.

Hope you enjoy JIRA Service Desk 3.8.1!

Importing SLAs

Sometimes you need to create a new project, and you want to base it on an existing project. You can use an existing configuration when you create the project, but you can't use existing SLAs. Now you can import those existing SLAs, directly to your new project!

Simply go to your new project, access the project settings, followed by the SLA menu, and select Import SLA configuration.

Events for linked issues

Long awaited, events for creating and deleting issue links are finally here. You can use them while building your plugins, or to create webhooks to get informed about changes to your issue links. The new events are IssueLinkCreatedEvent and IssueLinkDeletedEvent. To create webhooks, use the  issuelink_created and issuelink_deleted categories. Read more

Syntax highlighting for new languages

We've added syntax highlighting for 25 more languages. Whether it's python, C++, or Ruby you're writing in, we'll help you make it more visible. The highlighting works for any field that uses a text editor.
